We try to keep rules to a minimum in the 1st Hussars, but we also need to ensure that everyone within the clan knows what is expected of them and is treated fairly and reasonably.

Clarification of terms: THE TOP BRASS
Co-Commanders (of the clan) are the clan leaders of the 1st Hussars and deal with all issues affecting the clan as a group or any games with a clan presence.
HGG Directors deal only with issues relating to HGG as a broader organisation. Anything likely to affect the 1st Hussars as well is dealt with jointly between the two groups.
The term "Top Brass" can be used to refer to either HGG Directors or 1st Hussars Co-Commanders

CLAN RULES

RULES OF THE CLAN
All agreed rules are listed here (there are currently six). Anything not listed is not considered a rule. Rules for joining the clan are listed on the "How To Join" page.

1. CLAN DECISION MAKING (SENIOR MEMBERS and TOP BRASS):
Any rulings or changes to existing rules or structure must be discussed and agreed by the senior clan members based on majority agreement. Senior clan members are the Co-Commanders and the Regimental Officers
No member of the Top Brass can make decisions or rulings without a majority agreement by the TB. Any individual statement made without such agreement is considered to be just an opinion.
(NB: Clan Founders within the Top Brass can however veto any decision they feel goes against the spirit of the clan, but still cannot make rulings on their own.)

2. GAMING CODE OF CONDUCT and ONLINE BEHAVIOUR:
All clan members must abide by the clan Code of Conduct, which means gaming with integrity and honour. Use of cheats, exploits or hacks, attacking or killing (TK'ing) friendly troops, or spawn-camping are not acceptable behaviour for clan members.
Clan members must not bring the clan into disrepute by their actions or comments to other game players and other clans or communities. Complaints that the individual cannot resolve should be raised with the Top Brass.

3. ONLINE TAG:
The Hussars online tag must be used when playing with the Hussars in any official capacity and should be used when playing a game for which a Hussars squad exists unless there is a specific reason why you are required to adopt a different tag. The tags are:
[1stHssr] – (normal tag) - the full (and preferred) tag. Used for all games except Flight sims (see below)
[1Hsr] – (shortened tag) for games with a limitation of 17-20 characters for the in-game name.
[1H](ultra short tag) for games with a limitation of 16 or less characters for the in-game name
[1H20] – (Hussars “20 minuters”) used for flight games such as IL-2 Sturmovik, Lock-On and Pacific Fighters

In all cases, if the game goes not allow square brackets [] to be used, these are simply dropped from the clan tag.

4. CLAN NAMES:
Clan members are encouraged to adopt a Blackadder name upon being accepted into the clan (in keeping with the theme behind the clan when it was first started), but are not forced to should they choose otherwise.
Available names can be found by following this link.==> Available Blackadder names.

5. WE ARE HERE FOR FUN:
As a relaxed clan there is no commitment or requirement to attend gaming sessions or play online a certain amount each week. We do not expect any particular level of skill in a game because we play games to have fun.
The clan does not take part in competitive leagues or ladders and members should not do so using the clan name. However, in the past some members have adopted offshoot tags (such as the Hussars Expeditionary Force or [HEF]) for friendly leagues.

6. LEST WE FORGET:
Unless a clan member breaches the clan rules and is thrown out, they are always considered members, even if they have not been playing with us for some time.
Members who haven’t been active (on the HGG forums or playing with the Hussars online) for over 4 months are simply considered “inactive”, to ensure that any previously active member of the clan remains remembered and is free to return at any point should they so wish.
